Evaluating Websites Rubric

Criteria

There are five criteria you should use whenever you are evaluating a website:

Timeliness
Is the information current or outdated?
Relevance
How useful is this information for your research? How thoroughly is the topic covered? Is information presented backed up by other authoritative sources?
Authority
Who is responsible for the website and its content?
Accuracy
Is the information accurate and does it come from reputable sources?
Purpose
Does the author or website publisher have an obvious bias or is the topic covered in a balanced/objective way?
